I am victorious

Today I am reminded that all things work together for my good. Romans 8:28 says that all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose and I am called. Therefore, the trials and the testing are for my good. I am faced with a situation that is not fair. I was sixteen when my brother was murdered. I had to live through what happened. I thought I was done with the grief of losing him. After all, I wrote the book “Victory Over Loss: Overcoming Grief .” I had put it behind me. I was healed. I was victorious! Everything was great.  We know that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Not long after my book was published I learned that one of the people that killed my brother petitioned the court for a new hearing because the Supreme Court found it unconstitutional to give a minor life without parole. At that time I realized how healed I was. I took the news well. I was at peace. I trust God with the outcome.  We are now approaching the court d...

A New Year

It is a new year and a chance to reflect on 2023 and plan ahead for 2024. For some of us, 2023 was a great year while others feel like they barely made it through. Even if you accomplished less than you planned, be proud of where you are. Some years are hard, and we do not always finish as planned. The good news is we have a brand-new year ahead of us with 365 days of opportunities for new beginnings.   2023 was a great year for my family. We transitioned into a new season and our life changed drastically. It had been several years of waiting for a manifestation of the promises of God. Not everything turned out as expected, but we have been blessed. I am not sure what God has in store for us in 2024. I know that I intend to be more intentional. I want to be more intentional with my time, making moments count. I want to be more intentional about God and sharing his love with others and hearing from Him daily. Hearing from Him daily takes work on my part. This means I must be more in...

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. I love the Christmas season. I love to give and take my time picking out the perfect gift for each person on my list. I’m finished with my shopping and I  am almost done wrapping presents. I use to procrastinate but planning ahead allows me to enjoy the Christmas season. I love how I see the love of Jesus at Christmas time through people. People are generally nicer and children are more excited. People are giving. I love soaking it all in. I love the activities like the parades and live nativity stories along with so many other events that are special this time of year. I love making memories with my children. This week we are baking cookies, doing crafts, and attending a Christmas parade.  Sometimes we can get busier this time of the year and forget to soak it all in. There were years that I spent so much time preparing dances to minister for a Christmas program that I didn’t have time to bake cookies and go to parades. I’m so glad I’...

Thankful

It is Thanksgiving and this year I am reflecting on just how thankful I am. God has done so much in our lives and our ministry this year. He is full of wonderful surprises.  2023 has been amazing. I started this year as a stay at home mom. This was something I had desired and with a new baby it was so nice to be present. God later provided me with a part time job that I am able to do from home. We launched our ministry. We starting homeschooling our oldest child. We were able to purchase a bigger vehicle. God freed up my Husband with disability retirement. A injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise. He is also present more. God has blessed me and my family so much!  In the summer God spoke clearly to me feed the local homeless community. I didn’t know what that looked like.  He didn’t provide any specifics. We didn’t have the time or the resources but we knew we had to be obedient, so we prayed. God heard and God sent help. God didn’t just speak to th...
