Thankful

It is Thanksgiving and this year I am reflecting on just how thankful I am. God has done so much in our lives and our ministry this year. He is full of wonderful surprises.

2023 has been amazing. I started this year as a stay at home mom. This was something I had desired and with a new baby it was so nice to be present. God later provided me with a part time job that I am able to do from home. We launched our ministry. We starting homeschooling our oldest child. We were able to purchase a bigger vehicle. God freed up my Husband with disability retirement. A injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise. He is also present more. God has blessed me and my family so much!

In the summer God spoke clearly to me feed the local homeless community. I didn’t know what that looked like.  He didn’t provide any specifics. We didn’t have the time or the resources but we knew we had to be obedient, so we prayed. God heard and God sent help. God didn’t just speak to the leaders of our ministry, he spoke to others.

God is strategic. He is calling the body of Christ to work together in unity. It is not about our ministry or anyone else’s but instead the Kingdom of God. I am thankful for seeing collaboration in the body of Christ. Oh this is something I have prayed to see! This is what Jesus intended for the Church to be. I am thankful for this.

I am thankful for so much!  We don’t know how blessed we are until we see those that are less fortunate. I am thankful for food, a vehicle, heat, water, and shelter. There are so many that don’t have the things we take for granted everyday. We have a bed to lay our heads on and rest. Meanwhile, others sleep on the ground. We have heat, others are cold. We have water to bathe or shower. This is something that is so mundane to us that we take it for granted. Not everyone has the option to take a shower.

If you are feeling less than thankful today, look around and see all that you have. You may be living the life someone else is praying for.  Take some time this Thanksgiving to thank God for the many blessings he has given you. I promise you are more blessed than you know.
